IPMAN denies plan to commence nationwide strike

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), on Sunday said its members had no plan to embark on a nationwide strike in February.
Its National President, Alhaji Abdulkadir Aminu, made the denial in a statement issued in Lagos.
The statement was signed by IPMAN's National Secretary, Mike Osatuyi.
According to Aminu, the association has no issue with government to warrant its embarking on any strike.
``I appeal to Nigerians and all marketers to go ahead with their normal business and avoid creating panic in the society,'' he was quoted as saying.
Aminu acknowledged the problem the Mosinmi Chapter of IPMAN was having with the Ogun Government over the dilapidated nature of Sagamu-Mosimi road, but said it was not enough reason to go on a national strike.
``I understand the havoc that the road is causing my members in Mosinmi but I do not think strike should be the solution,'' the IPMAN president said.
He therefore urged members of the branch to exercise patience and allow the national leadership to conclude discussions with the state government on the matter.
