"Wrecking Ball" singer to air in late January
After kicking up controversy throughout the latter half of 2013, Miley Cyrus will be showcasing musically stripped down versions of her famous hits on MTV’s Unplugged series in late January.
Promoters of the show — renowned for career-defining emotive performances by Nirvana and Lauryn Hill — promised that Cyrus would not disappoint.
“I can say that this will easily be one of the most memorable Unplugged performances to date,” said Amy Doyle, EVP of music and talent programming strategy for MTV, in a press release.
The episode is scheduled to air on Jan. 29.
