Whether the song she sang ultimately wins the prize or not, the song "Let It Go" most likely grabbed an Oscar nomination with a nudge from the benefit of an up-tempo version being performed by Demi Lovato and grabbing the attention of the singer's legion of fans (the movie's original was sung by Idina Menzel).
Her song, "Neon Lights" has also managed to top the Club Play charts, which makes for a good first month of 2014 for the popular singer and former talent show judge.
This of course comes on the heels of taking two People's Choice awards earlier this month at the 40th annual event. Lovato took home the award for Female Artist as well as an award for her ravenous fan base (the "Lovatics").
Lovato did not attend that particular awards ceremony, much to the chagrin of some of her more arduous fans.
"Damn... Just hopped online to check twitter and some 'fans' are being really mean :(," Lovato tweeted on Jan. 8. "I'm not a the PCA's because as I have stated before, I'm taking as much time off this month as possible ... I haven't taken a substantial amount of time off in a long time and now I am. Thank you for those who voted and understand why I am away."
In the meantime, Lovato is getting ready for her "Neon Lights Tour" that begins on Feb. 9 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Currently there are 27 shows on the schedule (which is still subject to change according to her Web site). After holding the first show in Canada, Lovato will return to the U.S. with shows in California and work her way across the country to a scheduled final show in Indianapolis on March 30.
Little Mix, Fifth Harmony and Cher Lloyd are each slated to join Lovato on different show dates.
