Powered by Mi-Fone, the first African mobile devices brand, Oju is a new ‘afro-centric’ character and emoticon that is iconic, important, innovative and authentic the the full range of 65 Afro Emoticons is definitely a pioneering achievement.
The über-trendy event, which included incredible performances by renowned international DJ Nickie Cartel, and Urban Soul vocalist Naima Mclean had the likes of Pearl Thusi, Vimbai Mutinhiri, Sonia and Matthew Booth, Carol Ralefeta, Mapps Maponyane, Amanda Du Pont, Carmel Fisher, Raphael Griffiths, Johana Mukoki all in attendance and captivated as the full range of Oju’s were revealed.
There were over 12000 downloads of the free app from Google Play in just 4 days after it was released on the 10th of April 2014, of which the majority of those downloads have originated from the United States. Designed to be used across all Android platforms, the Oju’s will be released shortly on IOS and other platforms.
“Oju is an African innovation, an African character that we have no doubt will become an iconic character across the globe.
