MAN UNITED WANT ROSS BARKLEY
A move to Manchester United for Ross Barkley has been talked about on and off for the last three years. The Daily Star are bringing it back. Gawd bless ‘em.
The paper claim that United have made Barkley their top summer target, and will bid £45m for the midfielder. You really do feel that Everton will pay for this poor season.
The story is embarrassingly low on detail, in truth. The only quotes come from Louis van Gaal on Romelu Lukaku, which is interesting evidence for United signing Barkley.
MAN CITY EYE SUAREZ MOVE. HAHAHAHA
Pep Guardiola believes he can persuade Luis Suarez to leave Barcelona this summer to join him at Manchester City, claim the Sunday Express. Jesus.
Suarez is represented by the Media Base Sports agency run by Guardiola’s younger brother Pere, apparently leading the soon-to-be City boss to believe a major coup can be pulled off.
Guardiola had wanted to sign Suarez for Bayern Munich two summers ago, but the Uruguay forward instead signed a five-year contract at the Nou Camp in what has recently revealed to have been a £65million transfer.
Barca are due to pay a final installment of around £13million for the 29-year-old at the end of July, but the Catalans want City to pay that for them as part of any deal, the Express says.
EVERTON AND LIVERPOOL WANT LACAZETTE
To the Daily Mirror now, and our old transfer friend Steve Stammers. He does love a ballsy Sunday shout.
Stammers reports that Everton and Liverpool will go against each other in a bid to sign Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, with Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke set to leave their respective clubs this summer.
Lacazette scored 27 league goals in Ligue Un last season, but has managed only 14 this season. At 24, he’s one of most exciting young forwards in Europe.
Stammers reports that a fee of £22m could do the trick.
£72.1M FOR DIEGO COSTA?
Chelsea have already done pretty well out of the Chinese football revolution, making big money on Ramires in January.
However, the Sunday Times claim that Ramires’ fee might soon look like loose change. They claim that Chelsea have been offered £72.1m to sell Diego Costa. That’s an absolute s*t tonne of cash.
The report also says that Costa could double his wages to £8m per year if he chose to move to China. That’s all very well, but it would be the end of his career, wouldn’t it?
AND THE REST
Chelsea will target Fraser Forster if Thibaut Courtois wants to leave Stamford Bridge this summer… Everton could face competition from Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool to sign Dynamo Kiev winger Andriy Yarmolenko, who has also been watched by Manchester City… Everton are targeting Manchester City’s Wilfried Bony as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku… Tottenham have joined the race for Ajax forward Anwar El Ghazi, who has previously linked with Liverpool and Chelsea would cost around £12million… Watford’s Odion Ighalo is on West Ham’s summer wish-list as they look to land a big-name striker… Leicester plan to offer 25-year-olds Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante £80,000-a-week contracts this summer in a bid to keep them at the King Power Stadium.
