Ronaldo Handed Two-Match Ban Following Descent at Coldoba

Cristiano Ronaldo has received a two-match ban for kicking out at an opponent during Real Madrid’s 2-1 win at Cordoba on Saturday.

The Portuguese superstar was lucky to have escaped booking early on when, out of frustration, he lashed out with his hand at Cordoba’s Jose Crespo- an incident which went unnoticed by the referee. Minutes later, the reigning Fifa Ballon d’Or holder kicked at Edimar and was show a straight red.

Ronaldo took to twitter to “apologise to everyone” after the match and “especially to Edimar” for an act he described “thoughtless”.
