Purpose:
Leading the building of the Company’s market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships in relation to our businesses to deliver significant growth.
Responsibilities:
Project Management
Develop, maintain and update project plans/schedules for projects as necessary
Manage project scope by tracking and reporting project milestones and status reports
Accomplish project objectives by planning and conducting follow-ups to ensure on-time delivery of commitments
Act as the main point of contact for allotted projects to ensure effective communication
Market Research
Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
Research and build relationships with new clients.
Work with Jagal Businesses and relevant JVs in researching opportunities.
Build a database of target opportunities (clients and projects).
Identify any new related ventures or services that could compliment the company’s service offer.
Research competitors and their approach to clients.
Obtain competitor intelligence to compare their business development approach to clients.
Where possible obtain comparative information on competitor pricing levels in comparison with the company.
Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends
Research media that can be used in any marketing campaigns
Assemble and disseminate market intelligence
Business Development Planning
Bring structure and planning to the opportunity funnel in order that the most prospective client targets receive the appropriate levels of attention.
Identify major opportunities within the agreed sectors. Prepare business case reports for opportunities where appropriate.
Monitor and report on all specific tenders and opportunities.
Provide regular business development summary reports to management and build and maintain excellent client, project and market related information.
Provide BD leadership in key areas of the business in order to help to enable the company to realize its growth aspirations.
Identify new business opportunities and build on current business relationships to expand opportunities.
Create, maintain and enhance client relationships through regular contact and meetings to understand and prioritize future opportunities.
Develop and manage strategic relationships to enable formation of strategic alliances with organizations to enhance the overall effectiveness of the Company’s offerings in bids for contracts
Establish clear, achievable and challenging objectives. Monitor performance regularly to ensure highest chance of success.
Liaise with the BD Director and other directors in the formation of the annual business development plan.
Work to ensure that all business development targets are met or exceeded.
Review existing business development plans, processes and policies. Recommend any changes and improvements considered necessary.
Support and encourage cross selling of other services available via Joint Venture partners.
Evaluate opportunities to educate the market and generate effective proposals.
Ensure that all bids are fully compliant including in terms of the Nigerian Content Act
Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
Present to and consult with senior management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and opportunity c
