The football academy of Nigeria U17 stars Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze have dismissed a fabricated report that the youngsters are to undergo trials at English Premier League side Arsenal.
Both Nwakali and Chukwueze are in England and Diamond Football Academy of Umuahia have announced negotiations with Arsenal are very much on course and there was never a time the English club demanded the boys undergo trials.
"Like is normal in any such transfer, the players and their guardians visit the clubs to take a look at the facilities on ground and ask questions and discuss issues that will help them in making up their mind whether or not to accept the club's offer before them. That's exactly what happened,” explained the legal consultant of Diamond Academy Johnny Ogbah.
“Same way Victor Osimhen visited Germany first before accepting to finally move there. Nobody asked any of the players to train with any of the Arsenal teams. I know this because I was there and involved in it all.”
Ogbah added: "My clients are trying to cross every T and dot every I to ensure they get the best deal for the players and for the academy and everything went smoothly.
“Mr. Dick Law the Arsenal Director of Football assured us even before we traveled that there would be no trials and there wasn't any, so I wonder where the website got their story from because it is all balder-dash.
"Before we left for London, people fed us with lies about Arsenal and some swore that the boys were going on trials, but that was never the case.
“Both deals are in place and progressing positively but like I said, Diamond Football Academy are in no hurry as they want to ensure their players' welfare and other important matters are well sorted out before the deal is concluded."
