Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Josephy Kamwendo has sealed his move to the Mozambican side Liga Malcumana.
The Nyasa Times website reports that the creative midfielder has joined from the Democratic Republic of Congo side and current CAF Champions League holders, TP Mazembe.
Although his childhood team, Wanderers were hoping to sign the Flames international, they were beaten by Malcumana.
“The rumour that he has secured a deal with a Mozambican club is a bit surprising because he told us that he is going to the DRC to sort out a few things with his club,” said Wanderers' Mike Butao.
“We have been talking to TP Mazembe and we expected to conclude the negotiations to have him permanently.”
The report suggests that Kamwendo came back from the DRC early this year and searched for a club in Malawi following lack of game time with the Les Corbeaux.
However, apart from Wanderers, Silver Strikers is the other club rumoured to have shown an interest in the 29-year-old.
