Two goals by Al Ahly midfielder Abdallah El-Said gave Egypt victory over Burkina Faso on Saturday in a game both teams played only with their home-based players.
The seven-time African champions deserved their 23rd minute opening goal after they dominated play with their West African visitors hardly troubling them in Alexandria.
El-Said completed his brace early in the second half from the penalty spot for an easy win.
Hossam Ghaly, Amr Gamal, Mostafa Fathi and Rami Rabia were among those who featured for Egypt.
