Platinum Stars coach Cavin Johnson says he is expecting a backlash from Kaizer Chiefs when his side hosts the Soweto giants for an Absa Premiership clash in Rustenburg on Wednesday evening.
The Amakhosi come into the league match having suffered a 2-0 loss to arch rivals Orlando Pirates in the last 32 of the Nedbank Cup this past weekend.
Johnson’s Stars side also beat Chiefs 2-1 in a league match in Cape Town earlier in the season, further upping the stakes for the visitors to get a positive result at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.
However, the Dikwena coach believes that if he gets his tactics right, they could complete a league ‘double’ over the reigning PSL champions.
"You know when you play against Chiefs, you are covered with the players’ part. You have to do the tactical work. If you do the tactical part correctly you can always win the game," Johnson said.
"The fact that they lost the Nedbank Cup game, they are going to come out and they are going to run at us and we are preparing ourselves.
"We will be more confident than they are because it’s our home game. We will try match them pound for pound and if we can, we will be in with a good chance to come away with something from the game."
