Super Eagles new invitee Fanendo Adi marked his call-up to the national team with a goal as he scored the match winner for Major League Soccer (MLS) champions Portland Timbers in a 2-1 win over Columbus Crew on Sunday.
Adi scored in the 79th minute to make sure his side picked the maximum three points at stake on the opening day of the new MLS season.
The 25-year-old Adi scored 19 goals last season to help Portland Timbers win MLS Cup.
The big striker played in Denmark before his move to the MLS and he was linked with a move back to Europe in the close season.
He is one of 21 foreign pros called up for an AFCON double header against Egypt later this month.
