Nigeria's Olympic bronze medalist Junior Ajayi has said he hopes to score goals and win trophies at new club Al Ahly.
Ajayi was Ahly's fifth signing of the summer following the arrival of Mohamed El-Shenawy, Marwan Mohsen, Ali Maaloul and Mido Gaber.
Ajayi scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in 28 appearances for Sfaxien in the Tunisian league last season, helping the club to finish in third position on the table.
“I am really happy to join Al Ahly of Egypt. They are the giants of Africa when it comes to soccer, my dream is to win laurels for them both at home and abroad,” he declared.
The striker featured in only one of six games at the Rio Olympics due to injury as Nigeria won a bronze medal.
“I didn’t play much for Nigeria at the Rio Olympics due to injury I had at the pre-tournament games in USA, but for now I am fully fit to join my new club that was why I didn't want to stress the injury because I have a huge task ahead , so I'm confident and optimistic of making a huge impact with my new club,” Ajayi said.
