Double Olympic champion Mo Farah ran the fastest 5,000m of the year in taking victory at the London Diamond League meeting on Saturday.
The British star stepped on the gas in the last 400m to win in a time of 12 min 59.29sec, improving the mark set by Ethiopia’s Muktar Edris at Eugene in May when he triumphed in 12 min 59.43sec.
Farah will be defending his 5,000m and 10,000m titles at the Olympics in Rio next month
