No fewer than 1600 structures were affected while other significant damages were recorded in a wild fire which broke out in the Canadian city of Fort McMurray.
Premier of the Province, Ms Alberta Rachel Notley, who confirmed the outbreak, said the fire was still on the move, with more communities, including the airport area, proned to danger.
As Fire services predicted Wednesday that the high winds and hot temperatures would worsen the disaster, some 80,000 residents have been evacuated, without report of injuries.
Ms Notley also confirmed that the fire had moved North and East across the city, but cautioned, if the winds persisted as predicted, the blaze would move into the Thickwood and Timberlea communities, as well as the area around the airport.
Similarly, fire officials indicated that the magnitude of the outbreak has risen to 7,500 hectares (29 sq miles) and it was being tackled by 100 firefighters, with efforts concentrated on downtown – the Gregoire area and the airport.
With the incident, likely explosive conditions loom.
