The former Chelsea stars are on holiday as the season winds down in the US, as is Pirlo, who paid a visit to his former Juventus and Italy boss. While the former West Ham and Liverpool playmaker is playing for NASL side Tampa Bay Rowdies, who finished 10th in the Fall season.
Andrea Pirlo was also present at Cobham to catch up with former boss Antonio Conte after New York City's play-off dreams were dashed in the Eastern Conference semi-finals against Toronto. Ashley Cole and Joe Cole returned to Chelsea training today in a bid to keep fit as the United States football season winds down.
The former left-back's Los Angeles Galaxy lost in the Western Conference semi-finals with Cole missing in the penalty shoot-out.
Michael Essien is also training with the club's development squad as the Blues welcome back their former champions in the twilight of their playing careers.
Conte, smiling when quizzed on Pirlo's visit, could not hide his delight and opened the door to Pirlo training with his side in the future.
"He was only here to see me. He is still able to do a good training session," Conte said.
"I'm pleased for this visit. Andrea was my player for three years [at Juve] & we won together."
The former AC Milan star made 33 appearances last term as NYC bowed out in the Eastern Conference semi-finals against Toronto.
Pirlo has one more season with New York City but with the new MLS Season not beginning until March, the 37-year-old could well train with his former manager's side to maintain his fitnes
