Arsenal 1-5 Bayern Munich (agg 2-10), UEFA Champions League RESULT: Gunners tumble out the last-16 again after Laurent Koscielny sees red

Arsenal crashed out of the Champions League last-16 in spectacular fashion on Tuesday night as they were thrashed by Bayern Munich.

Bayern took full advantage when Laurent Koscielny was shown a red card for a foul on Robert Lewandowski in the Arsenal penalty area.

That penalty from Lewandowski, including goals from Arjen Robben, Douglas Costa and Arturo Vidal, easily wiped away Theo Walcott's opener in the 20th minute.

Arsenal are humiliated as they tumble out the Champions League again
And for nearly an hour Arsenal still had a shout of getting back into this tie.

There were boos at the final whistle from the very few Arsenal fans left inside the stadium, not for their team but for the referee who made the controversial decision to send off Laurent Koscielny which effectively killed the tie.

Arsenal as a result are left to lick their last-16 exit wounds once again as Bayern Munich progress and they will be joined in the quarter-finals by Real Madrid who saw off Napoli 6-2 on aggregate after triumphing 3-1 at the Stadio San Paolo.
