#Photo: Deadliest Storm Ever Hits Philippines! 1,200 Dead! Authorities Say It Could Rise To 10,000.
As many as 1,200 people are feared dead in two cities alone after Super Typhoon Haiyan, one of the most powerful storms ever recorded slammed into the central islands of Philippines. "We estimate 1,000 people were killed in Tacloban and 200 in Samar province, or could be more, Gwendolyn Pang, secretary general of the Philippine Red Cross, said after the storm hit some places on Friday.
The storm knocked out power and communications making it difficult for people to communicate. Buildings collapsed on people, dead bodies are seen littered on the streets. And authorities are saying the death toll could rise up to 10,000 because the storm is now moving towards mainland Asian and will also reach Vietman coastal areas. It is said to be the deadliest storm ever in history.
